Issues relating to safety and security have become increasingly relevant in Sweden in recent years and despite the fact that many municipalities, companies and other actors have the issues high on the agenda, few have defined and defined the concepts. Even fewer have figured out what it is that actually affects safety and security in, for example, a municipality, which leads to a lack of relevant follow-ups and evaluations of measures taken.
A prerequisite for being able to work professionally with the issues is therefore to define, define and operationalize safety and security in order to have the opportunity to continuously follow up and work based on clear goals.
Based on current research and proven experiences, Stiftelsen Tryggare Sverige has therefore developed a defined, defined and operationalized concept of safety and security.
Many municipalities today also have major problems with crime, disorder and insecurity in the public space. A tool for creating safe, secure and attractive streets, squares and parks involves the municipality, property owners and businesses working with place collaboration and placemaking. Safer Sweden has pursued the issue of the need for the location’s conditions for many years and in recent years has pursued more concrete projects in the area of place collaboration and placemaking.
An increased focus on the interests and needs of various social groups is fundamental in situational crime prevention. This is where feminist urban planning comes in, as an important and current concept. It clarifies how we create a public environment that draws attention to social structures, influences people’s experience and behavior and ultimately increases safety in the place. Through an increased awareness of who it is that our public environments are actually planned from, structures can be made visible and changes enforced.
Based on an increased demand, Stiftelsen Tryggare Sverige is the initiator of the Network for Feminist Urban Planning. The purpose of the network is to bring together professionals in the field, to develop the concept and to spread inspiration and knowledge.
